Every year since 1870, New York City has thrown an Easter parade. This parade is a huge deal in the Big Apple, with many people proudly displaying their Easter Bonnets along 5th Avenue.

There was a lot going on at the show, including a meeting on the afternoon of March 22, where  representatives of driver-training schools, fleets who do their own training, and professional drivers gathered to discuss a simple question: in the long run, how much safer is a driver who has been trained formally compared to one who hasn’t?

On-highway diesel prices dropped 4.1 cents this week to $4.047 a gallon, down from $4.088 last week. This was the third weekly drop since March 4, when it was $4.130.

Time reports that U.S. retail sales rose a solid 1.1% in February, representing the fastest pace in five months. The retail sales report is the government’s first look each month at consumer spending, which drives about 70 percent of economic activity.

Economists were encouraged by the stronger-than-expected gain in retail sales. Some said the increase means the economy may be growing faster in the January-March quarter than they had forecast.
