According to a new Federal Reserve report,
activity at the nation’s factories rose in February the most in six
months. Manufacturing increased 0.8% compared to the month before,
nearly erasing a 0.9% decline in January, which the Fed attributed to
extreme weather.
Total
industrial production for February, which includes the total output
from the nation’s factories, mines and utilities, increased 0.6%
following a 0.2% drop in January. The increase was greater than many
analysts were expecting.
