On Friday, after
reviewing engineering and traffic safety reports, the Idaho Transportation
Board approved a plan to increase speed limits on selected rural sections of
interstates in southern and eastern Idaho in early August.
Speed limits
won’t increase until the proper signs are in place, but once the signs
are up, limits will increase to 80 mph on interstates 15, 84 and 86. The max
speed for trucks will go up to 70 mph.
