State
officials announced that work on the final stretch of Interstate 49N is
expected to begin this fall. The Louisiana Department of Construction said
yesterday that the job had been divided into two phases for Segment K – a one
mile tract from I-220 to Martin Luther King Boulevard in Caddo Parish.
The first
part of the project began in May, and the Louisiana DOT anticipates that the
work will be done by 2016 or 2017.
