According to a new Federal Reserve report, activity at the nation’s factories rose in February the most in six months. Manufacturing increased 0.8% compared to the month before, nearly erasing a 0.9% decline in January, which the Fed attributed to extreme weather.

Total industrial production for February, which includes the total output from the nation’s factories, mines and utilities, increased 0.6% following a 0.2% drop in January. The increase was greater than many analysts were expecting.
