The San Antonio Spurs put an end the Miami Heat’s hopes for a three-peat last night at the NBA Championship, and it wasn’t even close, with the Spurs ending the game at 104-87. San Antonio won its last title seven years ago, in 2007, and almost tasted victory last year, when the Miami heat “practically snatched the rings right off their fingers.”
“I say it’s the sweetest one,” Parker said, “because it’s just unbelievable to win seven years ago, and to be so close last year, it was very cruel. But that’s the beauty of sport. Sometimes it’s tough. And sometimes it can be beautiful like today.”
